Art Isn't My First!

Well, most of the artists here were naturally born artist or should I say that Art was their first choice. In my case, it wasn't. It was more like, my third.

I started first with Music.

Although, some people say that Music is also Art, I'd say it's completely different for me.

When I was at three years of age, me and my family was into "Videoke" or "Karaoke". My dad always gives me the microphone and start blabbering, and he always sings " 25 Minutes" by Micheal Learns to Rock. I memorized it by listening and in addition, I learned how to read English. (English isn't my first language, Tagalog was.)

My parents were surprised 'cause I can really sing in sync with the song. (Not to mention that I'm in the right tune.) And so, they were so proud of me that they made me sing in front of my "not-so-close" relatives and my "not-so" relatives. Of course being a kid, they favoured me with delight and applauses and smiles and laughter. But, as I do it more often, I got shy. Being sick of attention.

Second was Speech and Acting.

There was this event at my school, namely "Zonal Competition" wherein private school representatives compete. They were recruiting First Graders to Third Graders for the Speech Choir contest. I was a First Grader at that time. (Age of 6) My teacher asked who wants to volunteer and I proudly raised my hand with a grin. I was accepted.

I memorized it faster than my schoolmates and my teachers were impressed of my speech delivery. Unfortunately, my gender wasn't fitted for the role. It should be a boy.
(Believe me, I'm not a genius. My IQ is as low as... Well... As low as my grades.)

They said my voice was good, and so they made me stand beside the boy who was chosen for the role. We did our best and we won gold.

Then, I was discovered. They made me the representative of the school for the "Declamation Contest". Surprisingly, I also won for the gold.

And so on, I officially became the representative of my school for " Oratorical Speech Contest", "Speech Choir Contest", and " Declamation Contest". I won golds and silvers constantly until when I was a 4th Grader. Sadly, the organization that holds the contest said that there will be no "Speech Contests" permanently. (Well, they brought it back now.) And so, I came back to Music.

I learned Violin during Summer. I learned fast as I listen and learned several songs throughout my two months of vacation and stopped learning after the Recital. (I didn't continue it.) (I did learn Piano when I was at 2nd or 1st Grade but I did not like it.)

But, I just thought for a second that Music isn't for me.

So, going back to my days of being a First Grader. I learned that I was also good at drawing. (Well, my mates were having a "Kid Competition Stuff" like who's the best at drawing Goku or Anime or Cartoons. I joined them 'cause I was an airhead and a tomboy.)

I became more fond of art when I saw my batch mate drawing anime when I was a 6th Grader. And I watched 45 Episodes of One Piece and got really into it and I started imitating it. (The style and etc.) I bought poster, became a fan, kept watching anime stuffs.

Then, as I imitate them, I wondered if I draw them without looking at any reference photo. I wasn't successful. Then, I kept trying and trying.

My sisters where there to criticize me. I thought they think I'm bad when I was really young but I now realized that they were just doing it so that I can try drawing the "better" version.

I drew and drew and drew during classes when I was in Sixth Grade and gained popularity by doing so. Doing art projects and activities, they run to me and request me to draw things that were hard for them. I remembered that I got the perfect score in my Art Class. (Not really the Art Class that you experienced) And I did a nicely painted and pasted (I dunno what is it called. I forgot) "Grain Art Thing" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Lolol.

Until Grade 7, I got some new classmates. I was recognized as the "Childish Anime Girl" (I dunno why they call me that. But, I'm sure that I was very childish back then.) And same stuffs.

I loved art more and more and more when I was in 8th Grade because of my ex-best friend (that I got a crush later on.) Me and him made our first own characters namely, "Zealox (his OC) and Reaper (mine)" until it became tenths and hundreds. Well, there will be no character if there is no Story.

Our first unfinished story was "Random Adventurer's Cross-Over".

(I don't want to talk about it since this is getting long.)

And then there's this story that was told in a way of chatting and orally telling. (We tell it in English, though. 'Cause he naturally speaks in English. I had to get along with it.) And that was " Overpowered".

(Don't want to tell it either.)

Sadly, I had to end it because our closure became even moreeeeeeee. I had to stop what I feel, so I decided to end it with a grand finale. But, it didn't work well because he thought of the "After-Ending Saga" but just in different worlds but same universe.

(But now, we don't talk anymore like we used to.)

It did end well.

So, I wanted to move on from him. But, It would be a waste of a story if I abandon what we've started.

Now, I planned on making it real.

I thought, what if I make it like what it's supposed to be?

We wanted to make it an anime.

That thought pushed me to keep learning and being more and more drawn to art and anime and everything.

That is my inspiration.

I wanted to learn at the very best.

At this point, I'm still drawing sketches and scratches and everything. I tried something different other than Animes and Cartoons.

I didn't submit plenty of my stuffs here on my Deviant. But, that's because I wanted some things that I can only see.

I love doing art even though it wasn't my first choice. And no one can discourage me to keep it.

Art is my escape from the real world.

Ps.: Sorry for bad English. And being an airhead. Sorry for bragging my achievements too. I was just eager to share it.

Pps: Thank you for reading. Have a nice day!
